Here it is: the fruit of the labor by Cleetus McFarland and his YouTube team who have been perfecting the McFlurry Ford Mustang Fox Body racer. It goes faster than ever before showing it’s amazing potential on the drag strip.

For those who aren’t in the know about the YouTuber’s custom-built muscle car – it got an engine swap courtesy of a 7.3-liter ‘Godzilla’ Ford V8 and a twin-turbo setup.

With more than 1000 hp pushing through the powertrain and the limits getting reached for the Godzilla engine, the team try to see how fast the machine can reliably go on a straight piece of asphalt.

Here’s what happened recently when it broke its own record and what the team has in store for the performance car in the coming days.

Cleetus McFarland’s McFlurry Racer Makes More Than 1000 HP

It made 1000-1100 hp on the dyno and on its first test runs, and now its even got the vinyl graphic applied to its bodywork and windows.

The white Fox Body Mustang is down at Bradenton Motorsports Park for some passes on the 1/8 and ¼ mile, and it starts off with low boost pressure (around 13 lbs) so the team can check on its oil pressure and monitor its performance before cranking up the heat on the 7.3-liter V8 from its twin-turbos.

With the eye-catching Lenco multi-stick transmission and even-more-eye-catching flashing interior lights, the McFlurry Mustang (complete with McDonald’s ‘M’ on the rear) makes a burnout prior to the first pass.

Hopefully things go well as Cleetus recently had to admit defeat when his Chevy El Camino build ‘Mullet’ blew up on the drag strip.

The Twin-Turbo Ford Fox Body Mustang Is A 7-Second ¼-Mile Car
A twin-turbo Fox Body Mustang can make anywhere north of 1000 hp, with the Ford 7.3-liter Godzilla V8 also being reliable. Engine upgrades are important in every area though so special attention needs to get made as the team crank up the boost, checking the oil pressure each time to make sure all the components (and the engine block) are structurally sound.

The first run without turning up the boost throws up an ok time, then the second gets a 9-second ¼-mile time, followed by the oil pressure checking out and the boost getting raised to 18-lbs.

Throughout the video we also see Georgie making quick passes in the Chevy Blazer which Cleetus assures the driver ‘Will not wheelie off the line’. It’s a fast SUV, but the McFlurry surprises all with its final run of the night.

Cleetus makes another hit in the newly-boosted Mustang and finally ends up with a record 7:80 run at 166 mph; the team are visible cheering and happy and Cleetus is
