Engine swap in ‘65 Mustang from 289 to 302

Hi!

We are thinking of swapping out the engine in our ‘65 Mustang from 289 to a 302 from an 88 5.0. This car is a family heirloom of sorts and we do not want to hurt the car’s value in the long term, however. Does this swap hurt the value? Thanks for your help.

Howdy, there....
I would only venture a guess and say the value wouldn’t be negatively impacted. On the contrary I think it would go up a bit.
I’d rather have the 302, personally.

Its the coupe right? I dont think its as important to keep the coupe completely stock. There are lots of restoration cars out there with different motors. Its all good!1
