I have a 78 mustang coupe with a restarting issue. What happens is basically after itís all warmed up and has been running a bit, if I turn it off and restart, itís not restarting consistently. I have to pump heavily to get it going again. I donít think itís a timing issue, as I have checked that and it did nothing. Is this a carb problem?

It is possible that your fuel is vaporizing in the gas line before it even gets to the carb. I don’t know for sure, but that could be one problem. After the engine has reached normal heat level, gas can vaporize in the gas line or in the carb after the motor has shut off. I would move your fuel line as far away from the motor as much as you can, shorten it up, and maybe wrap some heat resistant tape around it.
And as for timing, try changing it a couple degrees. Couldnt hurt to try.
